48 Hours in Dullstroom

A Panaroma Route treasure and arguably one of the most romantic towns in South Africa, Dullstroom is the perfect destination for a quick mid-week or weekend getaway. To provide you with some much-needed travel inspiration at this time of year, and to make the process of planning a getaway to this charming town that much easier, we’ve mapped out a complete itinerary for 48 hours in Dullstroom.

Day One

1:00 PM – Arrival at Walkersons Hotel & Spa

Walkersons Hotel & Spa is situated just outside of Dullstroom, a 3 hour’s drive from Johannesburg, and a 2 hour’s drive from Nelspruit. 3:00 PM – Try your hand at Fly Fishing

Dullstroom is the fly fishing capital of South Africa for good reason. You don’t have to travel far to find a selection of well-stocked dams and outstanding fishing facilities. Walkersons itself features 14 different dams and small lakes filled with rainbow trout, making it the perfect place to hone your angling skills, or try it out for the first time. 5:00 PM – Set out on a sunset stroll

The 800 hectare Walkersons Estate boasts a large network of paved pathways, providing you with the perfect opportunity to take a leisurely sunset stroll. Wander beside winding rivers, gently cascading waterfalls, and tranquil lakes, or make your way up into the mountain reserve to get the very best views.
