Dullstroom’s Stillwater Dams
With its numerous well-stocked stillwater dams, Dullstroom offers visitors the opportunity to experience the sport for themselves. The first trout were introduced to the area in the early 1900s and the population has grown to stock the dams sufficiently.
The average size of the trout caught at Dullstroom are between 1.8 and 4.5 kilograms but you don’t need to be an expert to try your hand at fly-fishing. Dullstroom is also a great spot for beginners, who haven’t yet perfected the art of fly fishing. The village angler shop is stocked with fly-fishing equipment and books on the subject. The friendly shop owners also give guests a few tips and tricks of the trade.
