King Price Insurance brings you the fourth annual installation of Lekkerland Carnival in Dullstroom from 27 to 28 March 2020. Get ready for a #lekker lineup, family-friendly festive fun, and some great carnival food.
This year’s lineup looks just as legendary as the last with artists such as The Parlotones, Francois van Coke, Bad Peter, Sutherland and many more hitting the stage. Also taking to the stage are some of Comedy Central‘s finest ready to bring some light-hearted laughs to your day.
Other fantastic live acts will also take place led by our MC’s Bennie Fourie and Bouwer Bosch but we can’t give too much away! There will also be a few unplugged music sessions taking place at various venues throughout Dullstroom. If you want to extend the festivities, don’t forget about the lekker after-party featuring dynamic duo DJ’s #SOZLOL.
The event is proudly family-friendly with a dedicated kids’ zone and plenty of entertainment including pony rides and jumping castles as well as jugglers, stilt-walkers, and more from the BDI Street Performance Troupe.
The quirky town of Dullstroom is the perfect spot for this fun-filled carnival known for plentiful quirky shops, wonderful galleries, fantastic restaurants, and accommodation to suit everyone. Enjoy a few shows around town on Friday and Sunday, head to the Village Green from 10am – 10pm on Saturday, and spend some time exploring all the unique nooks and crannies of the town in between events.
If you enjoy being active, bring along your running shoes to explore the amazing scenery around Dullstroom and your bike for the Lekerrr MTB ride – this is an informal ride with a local leading rider and groups of no more than 10 followers so it’s essentially a lekker local ride with friends. This year’s events are fairly technical and not suited to beginners but riders will be rewarded with incredible views from 2150m above sea level. The race will begin at Seattle Coffee at 07h00 on Saturday 28 March 2020.
Should the full race feel too hectic, take a more chilled ride around Walkersons Estate to check out the waterfall, enjoy the greenery, and have a look at our various dams – kids are welcome so be sure to pack their bikes too!
Located an easy 2.5-hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, Dullstroom is the perfect distance for a lovely long weekend away. One of the biggest factors for the festival is where to stay and with so many people flocking to the carnival, it’s important to find accommodation early. Lekkerland will once again be providing the Lekkerrr Tent Hotel for a bit of extra space for non-locals.
If you fancy something a little quieter, join Walkersons Hotel & Spa for a charming Scottish Highland country-feel experience. When you’re not at the Carnival, how about trying your hand at fly-fishing on Walkersons Estate or indulging in some downtime at the Walkersons Spa. With two on-site restaurants, high tea, and hotel or self-catering accommodation, Walkersons is the perfect spot to enjoy all that Dullstroom, and the Lekkerland Carnival has to offer.
