What’s in a Name Competition

This month, Walkerson’s Hotel & Spa are running their exciting “What’s in a Name Competition?” to establish a name for their renowned fine-dining restaurant.

Up for grabs is a luxury 2 night weekend getaway for 2 for both the winning name and the winning voter. These exclusive prizes include accommodation in one of the hotel’s lavish suites, as well as breakfast and dinner in the newly named restaurant.

The competition is currently in it’s second phase. The top 15 names have now been chosen, and users can VOTE for their favourite on this Facebook widget: http://bit.ly/2apCcl0.

Voting will take place until 31 July, and the winner will be announced on Monday 1 August at 12pm. Remember, the winning voter will be rewarded along with the winning name, so get those votes in!

Dining at the newly-refurbished Walkersons Hotel & Spa restaurant is a stylish affair, with an experienced culinary team, led by Chef Adri Van Wieringen, serving a delectable 5-course menu each night. While the menu changes every night, some favourite dishes are roast duck with a black cherry sauce, and the trio of trout with streaky bacon, horseradish cream and dill vinaigrette.

Chef Adri himself is a member of the elite Chaîne des Rôtisseurs international gastronomic society and South African Chefs’ Association. The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an International Association of Gatronomy, established in over 80 countries, which is dedicated to fine cuisine and which promotes gastronomic values of quality, fine dining, the encouragement of the culinary arts, and the pleasures of the table.

The dining room itself exudes elegance, romance and a hint of country charm. Features include crisp, white table cloths, candlelight, natural stone walls, warm wooden furnishings and a cracking fireplace on chilly evenings. Guests are also invited to select a bottle of wine from our extensive vintage collection, to be paired perfectly with their mouth-watering meal.

• Vote, like and share your favourite name on Facebook: Mon, 25 July to Sun, 31 July
• Both prizes subject to availability at time of booking
• Both prizes are valid until 31 January 2017, excluding peak season
• Both prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash
• Regrettably no children under 12 years in Main Restaurant
