True to their names, which hail from a fairytale, Hansel and Gretel Cottages are picturesque, private and welcoming – ideal for family escapes! They each sleeps 4 guests in 2 en-suite bedrooms and boast a fully-kitted kitchen, a spacious dining room and a comfortable lounge. Dullstroom winters are the perfect time to get cosy in our cottages. Look forward to snuggling up in front of the fire with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book. On those nights when you don’t feel like cooking, the main hotel is less than a kilometre away – convenient, yet private.

Room Layout

The layout of Hansel and Gretel Cottages are identical. Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 at each are en-suite.

Meals +

While Hansel and Gretel are self-catering cottages, guests are welcome to dine at the hotel, at an additional cost. Please contact reservations for pricing – there are options of set menus as well as à la carte for breakfast & dinner.

Families with children under the age of 12 years will be seated in The Misty Trout (family dining room) or on the Terrace.

Baby Facilities +

Camp cots are available for toddlers and infants – these are provided on request, on a first-come-first-served basis, depending on availability.

Load Shedding +

The cottages do experience load-shedding and are equipped with gas stoves, candles and rechargeable lamps. In addition, each cottage has a UPS system that provides power to the television, and WiFi router and allows for the charging of electronic equipment such as phones, laptops and tablets.

Guests are encouraged to download the EskomSePush App to check the load-shedding schedule for the duration of their booking. The hotel cannot be held liable for load shedding or power outages.

Our cottage was cosy, with a great fireplace that was lit every day – heated blankets as well so the night-time chill was kept at bay. There’s a veranda outside for those early morning contemplations and gazing out at the stunning vista. The area is gorgeous in all its autumnal glory. The property is networked by walking trials. They are quite extensive so there’s a new view every day – fabulous for walkers.
